Optional website analytics

Updated 22 September 2026.

The Player Vault uses Google Analytics 4 only if you select Accept analytics. It helps us understand visits to our public website and improve those pages. Rejecting has no effect on using the site.

What is measured

Google receives a pseudonymous cookie identifier, the public page category you visit, visit times, general device and browser information, and the referring website's origin. Your IP address is necessarily used to connect to Google; Google says GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. This is not anonymous processing.

We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, form answers, account identifiers, private records, URL queries or fragments. Private, account and admin routes are excluded. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. This setup does not record sessions or form contents.

Your choice and cookies

The lawful basis for optional analytics is your consent. Analytics stays off before you choose. Your choice and its date are saved in site-analytics-consent-v1 on this device for 180 days. If you accept, Google's _ga and _ga_* cookies may be stored for up to 180 days. Clearing site data removes your saved choice.

Use Cookie settings at the bottom of a public page and select Reject analytics to withdraw consent. This stops further collection, removes analytics cookies and reloads the page to unload the tracking library. It does not retrospectively remove reports already produced.

Google and international processing

Google processes analytics data under the Google Analytics data processing terms. Processing may take place outside the UK, including in the US, under Google's applicable international transfer safeguards. See how Google uses data from partner sites and Google's data processing terms. This site's ordinary privacy information and contact options also apply to analytics enquiries and data rights requests.

Retention

Event and user-level analytics data is set to the shortest standard GA4 retention period of two months. Aggregated reports can remain available longer. We use these reports to assess public website traffic, not to make decisions about individual visitors.
